Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Chaz Ventures LLC, a New York limited liability company doing business as DropIQ ("DropIQ," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information in connection with the DropIQ website at dropiq.fm and any related domains we operate, our Discord community and bot, our email and notification services, and any related products and services (together, the "Service").
For people in the European Economic Area ("EEA"), the United Kingdom ("UK"), and Switzerland, DropIQ is the controller of the personal information we collect through the Service. By using the Service, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into our Terms of Service.
01A Note on Ticketing Data, and What We Do Not Collect
DropIQ monitors publicly available information published by third-party ticketing platforms, such as whether an event is on sale, its listed price, and whether it has sold out. This is public, non-personal market information about events and tickets. It is not personal information about you, and this Privacy Policy is about the personal information of our users and visitors, not about the public ticketing data we aggregate.
Importantly, DropIQ does not ask for, collect, or store your login credentials for any third-party ticketing platform, and we do not connect to or access your accounts on any such platform. Using DropIQ does not require you to link any ticketing account.
02Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
Account and identity information (via Discord). When you sign in using Discord, Discord provides us with information from your Discord account, which typically includes your Discord user ID, username, and avatar, and, where you authorize it or where it is otherwise made available, your email address. This lets us create your account and assign the correct access and roles. If we offer an email-and-password sign-in option, we collect the email address and credentials you provide.
Subscription and billing information. When you subscribe, our payment processor, Stripe, collects and processes your payment details. We do not receive or store your full payment card number. We do receive limited billing-related information from Stripe, such as your name, email address, subscription tier and status, billing country, and the partial card information and transaction records needed to manage your subscription, billing, renewals, and refunds.
Preferences and Service activity. We collect the choices and settings you make in the Service, such as the artists, venues, or regions you choose to track, your selected tier and add-ons, your notification preferences, and records of the alerts and features you receive and interact with.
Communications and submissions. If you contact us (for example, by emailing help@dropiq.fm or messaging support in Discord), we collect the content of those communications and your contact details. We also collect content you submit through the Service, such as venue suggestions or other requests, and any feedback you provide.
Information collected automatically. When you use our website, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical and usage information through cookies and similar technologies, such as your IP address, device and browser characteristics, pages viewed, links clicked, and how you arrived at and navigated the site. See Section 7 for more on cookies.
We may combine information from these sources and treat the combined information as personal information under this Privacy Policy.
03How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information to:
- Create, operate, secure, and maintain your account and the Service, and assign and manage your community access and roles;
- Process subscriptions, payments, renewals, refunds, and related billing, through Stripe;
- Deliver the alerts, intelligence, and features you subscribe to, and personalize them based on the artists, venues, regions, and preferences you select;
- Send account, transactional, security, and administrative messages (such as signup and cancellation confirmations and service notices);
- Send marketing or promotional messages where permitted, from which you can opt out;
- Respond to your inquiries, provide support, and operate our community;
- Monitor, analyze, maintain, and improve the Service, including understanding how it is used and developing new features;
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms or applicable law, and enforce our agreements; and
- Comply with legal obligations and exercise or defend legal claims.
04Our Legal Bases (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)
Where data protection laws of the EEA, UK, or Switzerland apply, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service and process your subscription); your consent (for example, for certain marketing or cookies, which you may withdraw at any time); our legitimate interests (such as operating, securing, analyzing, and improving the Service and preventing fraud and abuse, balanced against your rights); and compliance with legal obligations.
06Connected Platforms
Our Service connects to Discord and Stripe to function, as described above. We do not connect to your accounts on any ticketing platform, and we do not read data from any third-party music or ticketing account on your behalf.
08Email and Other Communications
By creating an account or providing your contact information, you agree that we may send you account, transactional, security, service, and administrative communications, including through email and the Discord platform. These are part of the Service, and you may not be able to opt out of essential messages while you maintain an account. For marketing or promotional emails, you can opt out at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in the message or by contacting us at help@dropiq.fm. We will continue to send you non-promotional, Service-related communications as needed.
09Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain your account, and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, and thereafter as needed to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and for other legitimate business purposes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it, or take steps to prevent its further use if deletion is not technically feasible. If you cancel and ask us to delete your account, we will do so subject to these retention needs.
10Data Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your Discord and DropIQ credentials secure.
11International Transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries whose data protection laws may differ from those of your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
12Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at help@dropiq.fm, and we will take steps to delete it.
13Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, and we will honor those rights as required by applicable law.
EEA, UK, and Switzerland. You may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information; to data portability; to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
United States. Residents of California and of certain other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws (which currently include, among others, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia) may have the right to: confirm whether we process their personal information and access it; request the specific pieces of personal information we have collected; request correction of inaccurate personal information; request deletion of their personal information, subject to exceptions; and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information, and we do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law.
California "Shine the Light." California residents may request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for those third parties' direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.
How to exercise your rights. To make a request, contact us at help@dropiq.fm. To protect your privacy and security, we may need to verify your identity before acting on your request, and we may decline requests where permitted by law. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request where the law allows, subject to verification. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
14"Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers offer "Do Not Track" signals and similar controls. Where required by applicable law, our systems will respond to recognized global privacy controls and opt-out preference signals.
15Third-Party Links and Platforms
The Service may link to or rely on third-party websites and platforms, including Discord, Stripe, and ticketing platforms. We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
16Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last Updated" date, and, if the changes are material, we will provide additional notice as appropriate. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
